Make It Last
Bat Care Guide
Simple habits that help your Caliburn bat perform its best, swing after swing.
Watch The Temperature
Avoid leaving your bat in extreme heat or cold for extended periods, like a car trunk.
Keep It Dry
Don't leave your bat sitting in wet grass or moisture. Wipe it down after use if needed.
Square Up The Ball
Avoid repeated jam shots or contact near the end of the bat whenever possible.
Skip Heavy Cage Balls
Avoid heavy or dimpled machine balls unless the bat is intended for that use. They can put extra stress on the wood.
Mind The Label
Hit with the label facing up or down, not directly into the ball.
Off-Season
Storing Your Bat
Store your bat indoors in a stable, moderate environment. A closet, bat bag, or gear area is better than a damp basement, garage, or vehicle.
Keep it upright or laid flat for long stretches, and wipe it down after games or practice to remove dirt and moisture.
A Natural Material
Wood Bat Reality
Wood is natural, and even a well-made, well-cared-for bat can eventually break. That doesn't automatically mean something was wrong with the bat.
Good habits won't make a bat unbreakable, but they will help you get the most life out of it.
